Lebanon denounces airspace violations by Israeli aviation

According to these media outlets, Israel’s aviation violated United Nations decrees for the umpteenth time.

A recent statement from the UN Peace Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) tells of the frequent Israeli violations of Security Council Resolution 1701 that ended a 2006 war between Tel Aviv and Beirut.

These actions remain unpunished, despite Lebanon’s complaints to the UN.

Israel uses Lebanon’s airspace to launch sorties against targets in Syria, The Daily Star reported.

According to Naharnet, from June to October 2020, UNIFIL reporded a daily average of 12.63 violations for a total of 61 hours and 51 minutes of flight time, a significant increase over the previous four months.

Nearly 95 percent of the transgressions were carried out by drones, according to the report.
