Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh denied those reports based on anonymous sources, although he confirmed that the issue is always in the agenda of the country’s authorities.
Other reports give an account of talks with UK officials to free British-Iranian citizen Nazanin Zaghari, on which Khatibzadeh said there was no official dialogue.
Regarding the meetings to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or nuclear deal, he commented that they will be resumed on Friday, May 7, and Iran will maintain its position to continue them as long as the spirit of the original deal is in place.
According to the spokesman, Iran is not in a hurry to revive the JCPOA, nevertheless it demands an elimination of the United States coercive measures and the reinstatement of the latter under the concepts of the consent sealed in 2015.
