‘We fulfilled our commitment to our population. We improved #Vacunarse Plan management and care. We managed to reach one million #doses applied,’ said President Lenín Moreno.

On Twitter, Lenín Moreno recalled that the country´s goal is to reach two million people vaccinated against the disease until the end of his term, on May 24.

Ecuador´s General Secretariat of Communication, on the other hand, detailed that 1,034,338 people have been vaccinated so far, of which 791,651 account for the first vaccination and 242,687 to the second one.

The Secretariat also recalled that Ecuador has received 1,999, 260 Pfizer, Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccine doses.

‘In total, national government has guaranteed the acquisition of 20 million vaccine doses through negotiation and direct purchase with Pfizer, Sinovac and AstraZeneca labs, without intermediaries, in order not to allow a black market or counterfeit vaccines,’ said the Secretary.
