Saturday in particular was a complicated day with 16,502 new cases and 231 deaths, in a country hit by a second wave that broke out with force and has overwhelmed the healthcare system, mainly in this capital and its sister province, Buenos Aires, the most affected territories.

In April, the death toll also rose and currently exceeds 64,000 since the first death in May, 2020.
