Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that there is an agreement to lift sanctions against people and institutions from the Islamic Republic, but the round of talks has not ended yet.
Araghchi confirmed the news at the end of the third stage of the dialogue aimed at saving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or nuclear deal.
That meeting is attended by Tehran and signatory countries of the deal, that is, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, China, and Germany, as well as representatives from the European Union.
The measures to be lifted, as agreed upon, include the Iranian energy sector, the automotive industry and those against financial, banking and port institutions, the Iranian deputy foreign minister said.
He added that ‘both the nuclear issue and sanctions, there are technical points that require more analysis and debates, because there are coincidences and differences’.
However, the process is moving forward slowly, he pointed out, but it is making progress, indeed, so it is still too early to know when and how we will be able to reach a final settlement.
