According to the text, the situation on the border is ‘stable’ and ‘there were no incidents or shootings’ during the night.
On Saturday, delegations from both governments started negotiations for the demarcation and delimitation of the border, the press service of the Kyrgyz Executive reported.
There were also reports that Kyrgyz President Sadir Zhaparov, and his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, talked on the telephone on Saturday in an attempt to protect the ceasefire agreement reached on Thursday, after border clashes.
Until Saturday, 33 were killed and more than 120 injured in Kyrgyzstan during the clashes on the border, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health and Social Development reported.
Nearly half of the 970 kilometers of the common border have not been demarcated since the collapse of the Soviet Union thirty years ago.
This situation has brought about disputes on the use of the land and water resources, with reports of clashes between neighbors at opposite sides of the border.
