According to Paraguay´s Director of Strategic Information at the Ministry of Health Édgar Tullo, the country´s death toll is quite alarming and warned of a Covid-19 case upward trend.
As many as 32,000 and 34,000 people die annually in the territory. In 2019, 32,362 deaths were reported, and in 2020 this figure rose to 34,503. In 2020 – Tullo detailed – as many as 2,262 coronavirus deaths were reported and during 2021, before the end of April, it has been reported more than 3,800.
In this context, Tullo recalled that Paraguay´s historically main causes of deaths, with nearly 7,000, are circulatory diseases such as heart failure, hypertension, thrombosis and others.
