VT coordinator Cecilio Simon and Bayano Digital director David Carrasco symbolically handed over 5,000 kits of disposable syringes to Cuban Ambassador to Panama Lydia Margarita Gonzalez, who thanked the gesture on behalf of her people and Government.

In a written message, the donors expressed that this contribution responds to the international movement of solidarity with Cuba and is their ‘contribution to the global will to provide the Cuban people with that essential device to achieve immunization on Covid-19 effects.’

This kind of action is in opposition to those of the US Government, which prevents Cuba from accessing multiple essential supplies in the world market, among them doctors, with particular fury during the Donald Trump administration, they said.

Simon and Carrasco also conveyed the Cuban authorities their ‘satisfaction for that other feat of the Revolution’ that is to produce its own vaccine and thus not depend on the ‘aberration of the capitalist system and reveal, with it, the anachronistic and shameful terrorist policy’ the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba has generated.
