The meeting, convened by the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS), will bring together experts from the United States, Germany, Switzerland, France and other countries, who will evaluate the development of this specialty and its main contributions to the future of medicine.
According to the EFIS website, the opening message of the online meeting will be delivered by the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the United States, Anthony Fauci.
In addition, there will be a round table, also virtual, with a panel of international experts and moderated by editors of scientific journals.
Under the slogan ‘Immunology in times of Covid-19: achievements and opportunities’, a series of short videos will be published on the social networks of the entity to listen to the thoughts of young immunologists from around the world, accompanied by the hashtag #ImmunologyDay2021.
The World Immunology Day was celebrated for the first time on April 29, 2005, as an initiative of the EFIS.
EFIS is a non-profit organization representing 35 European immunology societies, including also associations from Eurasia and the Middle East.
