Health Ministry opened a vaccine self-service center at a mall´s parking lot in this capital, and planned to open two others in the departments of Santa Ana and San Miguel.
Salvadoran Manuel Francisco Ramos was the first citizen in receiving his first self-service coronavirus vaccine dose, which seeks to streamline the process and to avoid overcrowding at different vaccine centers.
The facility has eight registration areas and eight vaccination areas, and a Red Cross ambulance to possible reaction to the vaccine.
In February, El Salvador launched a domestic vaccination campaign that has already fully vaccinated health staffers, and is currently treating people over 50 years of age.
