According to the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cuba has been offering medical assistance to Dominica since 1997 and the new document adds teaching.
Cuba’s Ambassador in that country Ulises Arranz Fernandez noted that this signing continues the boost of ‘excellent bilateral relations’ and commemorates the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic ties, which will be celebrated on May 18.
Meanwhile, the Dominican authorities expressed their gratitude for the uninterrupted collaboration in health matters during all these years, ‘in spite of the limitations imposed on Cuba by the US government blockade.’
According to the CUBAMINREX website, the Foreign Affairs and Health Ministers of the Commonwealth highlighted the training of human resources, which they said has contributed to the country’s development.
The signing ceremony was also attended by other health and government authorities from both sides.
