As Prensa Latina learned from Jose R. Oro, one of the main activists of the rally, on Sunday, April 25, despite rainfalls and cold, over 40 people in solidarity with Cuba joined the protest.
The attendees completed an itinerary in 15 cars in the center of the city and from there marched to express their demand in front of government facilities to put an end to the US unilateral sanctions against Cuba and the immediate improvement of relations between the two countries. After staying for an hour in the cars, with Cuban flags and signs against the US blockade, a march was held through the urban center of Hartford, and a collection was made for the purchase of syringes and other supplies to help in the vaccination process against Covid-19 in Cuba.
Tim Craine, leader of the Solidarity Committee with Cuba in Hartford, pointed out that those caravans ‘will not stop until the blockade against the Cuban people falls, we will be more and more and we will look for every possible way to reach the political decision makers.’
These cruel unilateral sanctions harm ‘the poor, the minors, the elderly, in short, the most vulnerable people, they constitute a crime against humanity, besides being illegal, unfair and also affect the Americans,’ he added.
