On his Twitter account, the head of Cuban diplomacy sent a message to the relatives and close friends of more than 80 people who died and 112 persons who were injured in a fire on Sunday.

According to reports from the Interior Ministry, the fire broke out at dawn in the intensive care unit of the hospital, after the explosion of poorly-stored oxygen cylinders.

The fire spread rapidly throughout the facility, which was providing health care to Covid-19 patients.

Iraqi President Barham Salih said on social networks that the accident resulted from year of erosion in state institutions due to corruption and bad management.
