The event, in which string quartets delight with the music of the genius of Salzburg, traditionally takes place in various spaces in the historic center of Havana but due to Covid-19 moves its actions for the first time to digital platforms.
From 09:00 local time and throughout the day, groups will perform the work known as ‘The Complete of Mozart’s String Quartets,’ consisting of 24 pieces for chamber format: violin I, violin II, viola and cello.
The pieces will be performed by the Cuban quartets Polaris, Subdominante, Alma, Luna, Caturla, Festivo and Amadeus Mozart and can be enjoyed through the YouTube channel of the Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana.
According to the organizers, they will also share on Facebook the online concerts of last year’s edition.
The Mozart Route is an initiative of US virtuoso violinist Michael Dabroski, also director of the Vermont Mozart Festival, in collaboration with the Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana and the city’s Historian Office.
