Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijiang denounced that those allegations are ‘a monstrous lie fabricated by international anti-China forces.’
‘The UK has enough problems of its own. British lawmakers should manage their own business and do more practical things for their constituents,’ he said when reiterating the condemnation by the Chinese government and people.
Besides the Foreign Ministry, the Chinese Embassy in London also condemned the text, approved by the House of Commons on Thursday, and mentioned the existence of alleged genocide in the Uyghur autonomous region of Xinjiang, where many Muslims live.
Chinese authorities have repeatedly denounced the politicization of human rights in Xinjiang by Western countries, and claimed that the programs implemented there seek to curb terrorism, separatism and radicalization.
They also called to reason, warned that they will not accept blackmail or interference in their internal affairs, and if hostility persists, they will have to fight back in defense of their sovereignty and interests.
