The document will serve to continue and develop these relations, promote investment and strengthen ties among entrepreneurs, organizations and commercial enterprises, according to a press release from the UAE’s Embassy in Havana.
Among its goals, the memorandum also seeks to expand commercial and industrial cooperation between Cuba and the UAE.
Antonio Carricarte, president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, and Humaid Bel Salem, secretary general of the UAE Chambers, signed the deal in a virtual meeting.
Both sides highlighted the multiple possibilities available in the field of biotechnology, considering Cuba’s achievements in the sector.
They also agreed to take advantage of the UAE’s experience in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Technology and Creative Economy.
The heads of both Chambers of Commerce agreed on the need to implement the signed agreement through immediate and tangible initiatives.
The meeting was also attended by Cuban Ambassador to the UAE Roberto Blanco and his Cuban counterpart, Bader Almatrooshi.
