Brazilian Foreign Minister Carlos França talked virtually to the WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who congratulated Brazil ‘for the growing number of coronavirus vaccinated people, despite global shortage of vaccines,’ he said.
Adhanom Ghebreyesus also invited Brazil to participate in the agency’s efforts ‘to increase vaccine production including through its involvement in some initiatives for the dissemination of top-of-the-line technologies.’
According to the UOL news portal, WHO indicated that it will try to anticipate the deliveries of vaccines to Brazil, but called for it to exercise its historical leadership in confronting the Covid-19 outbreaks, vaccine production and the response to health crises.
