On speaking at the meeting of high authorities, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez emphasized the serious health and economic effects caused by the pandemic in the most vulnerable sectors of the world’s population.
‘In cities overwhelmed by the predatory model of capitalism, the pandemic hit the poorest areas, exacerbating asymmetries and inequalities,’ Rodriguez noted.
The vice president also rejected the imposition of the US government’s unilateral coercive measures against countries in the region such as Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua.
In that regard, Rodriguez called the Portuguese authorities on opening spaces for dialogue, and collaborating in the release of financial resources blocked to the Venezuelan State in Portugal’s banking institutions.
