Yamira Palacios, head of the Cuban Medical Services Trading Corporation Office and the Medical Brigade in Beijing, and Mariela Garcia, national director of Stomatology, represented Cuba virtually.
Both reports outlined the strengths of the Cuban healthcare system, the importance given to the prevention of oral problems and the implementation of programs targeted as specific groups and the vulnerable population.
According to a publication by the Cuban Medical Brigade working in China, both countries’ challenges in terms of optimizing health care’s quality and, with it, people’s satisfaction, were also analyzed during the event.
The two countries reaffirmed their willingness to seek new opportunities for exchanges in future cooperation projects for the benefit of both nations.
In March, China and Cuba renewed a memorandum that will allow them to continue collaborating in health care, strengthen relations and explore business opportunities in this field for another five years.
