During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the main issues of bilateral political and economic relations were discussed, according to diplomatic sources.

Both representatives agreed on evaluating positively the state of bilateral ties and the ongoing actions, which are going to be further consolidated.

The Turkish minister congratulated Cuba on the results of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party (PCC) and on the election of President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez as head of that political party.

Cavusoglu recalled his official visit to Cuba in May 2019 and his cordial meeting with the Cuban president.

The Cuban diplomat reported on the development of the Congress and updated Turkish authorities on the negative impact of the US blockade against Cuba, which remains in force, after its tightening under the Trump administration.
