Lebanon reaffirms rejection of US blockade against Cuba

Beirut, Apr 20 (Prensa Latina) Lebanese Foreign Minister Charbel Wehbe on Tuesday reaffirmed his country's rejection of the United States blockade against Cuba, during a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga.

During the meeting, Pellicer Moraga delivered a message from Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, who described the damage caused to Cuba by Washington’s hostile policy.

The letter stresses the intensification of the economic, financial and commercial blockade in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rodriguez Parrilla thanked Lebanon’s stance in support of Cuba against the US blockade, and asked Beirut to support the resolution that Havana submits to the UN every year.

At the same time, the head of Lebanese diplomacy reiterated the continuity of his country’s support for Cuba in the struggle to eliminate the criminal US policy.

‘Cuba will always be have our support’, Wehbe summed up.

The Lebanese foreign minister took the opportunity to send congratulations to the Cuban people on the outcomes of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the election of President Miguel Diaz-Canel as its first secretary.
