The Belarusian head of State reiterated his willingness to promote in all possible ways the strengthening of cooperation between Minsk and Havana, especially in the commercial and economic sphere.
‘I am convinced that we could implement a series of important joint projects,’ Lukashenko said.
Diaz-Canel was elected on Monday as the head of the PCC, during the closing ceremony of the 8th Congress of the organization. He replaced Army General Raul Castro, who informed that his task leading the organization concluded ‘with the satisfaction of the mission accomplished and the confidence in the future of the Homeland.’

Presidente de Belarús felicita a su homólogo cubano
Minsk, 20 abr (Prensa Latina) El presidente de Belarús, Alexander Lukashenko, felicitó al presidente cubano, Miguel Díaz-Canel, en su cumpleaños y por su elección como primer secretario del Partido Comunista de Cuba (PCC), se informó hoy aquí.
‘En condiciones difíciles, está trabajando desinteresada e impecablemente para fortalecer aún más a Cuba. Espero que con su apoyo personal, la asociación constructiva belarusa-cubana mantenga un alto dinamismo’, indica el mensaje compartido por el servicio de prensa de la Presidencia.
El jefe de Estado belaruso reiteró su disposición de promover por todas las formas posibles el fortalecimiento de la cooperación entre Minsk y La Habana, especialmente en el ámbito comercial y económico.
‘Estoy convencido de que juntos podremos implementar una serie de proyectos conjuntos importantes’, destacó Lukashenko.
Díaz-Canel fue elegido la víspera al frente del PCC, en la clausura del 8vo Congreso de la organización, en la que sustituyó al General de Ejército Raúl Castro, quien informó que su tarea al frente de la organización concluyó ‘con la satisfacción del deber cumplido y la confianza en el futuro de la Patria’.
