MPs stress importance of 8th Congress of PCC in Cuba

Havana, Apr 19 (Prensa Latina) Parliamentarians from different parts of the world greeted the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), the website of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power reported on Monday.

According to the publication, up to date over 80 international parties and movements have stressed the importance of the meeting, which concluded on Monday.

Among the messages received, MEP Javier Moreno Sanchez highlighted on Twitter the work of Raul Castro at the head of the PCC.

‘My wishes of success to Miguel Diaz-Canel for the country to continue advancing in the reforms undertaken and my commitment to continue working in close collaboration with the European Union,’ he wrote regarding the election of the leader as first secretary of the political organization.

Manu Pineda, also an MEP, shared on that social network a ‘fraternal’ greeting from the Communist Party of Spain on the forum’s occasion, according to the Assembly’s publication.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker of the Andalusian Parliament Ismael Sanchez ratified his support to the new Central Committee of the PCC.
