The note, published on the PCC website, adds that the appointment will allow the drawing up of strategic plans and provisions ‘for the current and future causes of the Cuban Party and State,’ which has great significance for the continuity of the work of the historical leaders of the Revolution.’

‘We are assisted by the conviction that under the firm leadership of the Cuban Communist Party, Congress will guide and inject energy into the development of socialism with Cuban characteristics’, the text says.

He adds that the CCP and the Chinese government attach high importance to the relations between the two parties and countries; as well as ratifying the commitment to work together to continue fostering traditional friendship and strengthening political trust.

Likewise, it reaffirms the willingness to deepen strategic communication and constantly enrich mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation, in order to achieve new achievements in the construction of socialism in both nations.

The 8th Congress of the PCC began this Friday and will run until April 19 in three commissions in which the delegates will analyze the functioning and ideological work, the leading figures policy, and the economic-social results achieved since the celebration of the previous meeting.
