Any assistance action must comply with humanitarian norms and principles, said Faisal Mekdad during a meeting with Amer Al-Daoudi, chief of Operations of the World Food Program (WFP).
Mekdad highlighted WFP´s efforts and its assistance provided to Syrians who are experiencing severe economic conditions as a result of the US blockade and sanctions. There is a good level of cooperation, but we should increase it and make sincere efforts to support the Syrian people.
According to United Nations, more than 11 million Syrians need humanitarian aid as a result of the war.
