In a tweet, the Cuban foreign minister expressed his solidarity with Ubach and the team of the Pro Tempore Secretariat after the detection of a coronavirus outbreak in her ministry.
Andorra reported that the minister tested positive for this disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus on Thursday.
The executive of this small European country, located between Spain and France, said in a statement that the foreign minister has been isolated since Wednesday.
Due to this situation, Ubach will participate telematically and in isolation in the meeting of Ibero-American Foreign Ministers, which will be held on Thursday.
Initially scheduled for November, 2020, the meeting of Heads of State and Government of the 27th Ibero-American Summit was postponed for April 21 due to the effects of the pandemic and because it could not be held in person.
This small nation finally proposed a blended format, in which only delegations of 4 of the 22 member countries of the Ibero-American community will travel to the principality.
Besides the host country, the high-level meeting will be attended by the presidents of Spain and Portugal, because of their vicinity, and Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, former and subsequent venues of the event, respectively.
