According to a press release, Rivera said they will expand immunization centers to prevent new infections.

He also said that the Expanded Immunization Program is working in coordination with Provincial Directorates and Health Areas in screening active cases so far.

Rivera also said that the municipality of Yamasá, Monte Plata Province, has registered the highest number of diphtheria cases so far, for which reason technicians from different agencies conduct house-to-house screening.
