The draft guidelines to reopen food activity that the Regions must submit to the Government is one of the measures planned to be conducted after intermittent shutdowns since the outbreak of the pandemic that reduced operators’ profits, with estimated turnover loss of over 1.2 billion euros, Coldiretti pointed out.
Italy’s main farmers’ organization, however, noted that agrotourism facilities, often located in isolated areas in family structures, with a limited number of beds, tables and large outdoor sites, are perhaps the safest and most feasible spots to comply with protocols to prevent contagion.
For Coldiretti, after the shutdown imposed by health measures, in addition to restaurants, the impacts extend to producers who are deprived of a large part of the demand.
