According to Ahmed Hafez, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, Shoukry insisted on the importance for all sides to respect the results of the national dialogue, as well as the electoral rights within the agreed deadlines.

To preserve Libyan unity, it is necessary to put an end to any unconstructive foreign interference and ensure the departure of mercenaries, Shoukry noted.

At the same time, he added, the strengthening of national institutions will guarantee the stability and development to which the Libyan people aspire.

The UN envoy, meanwhile, took advantage of the meeting held in the Egyptian capital to brief the host FM on the results of his recent contacts with the actors involved in the Libyan crisis.

Kubis appreciated Cairo’s efforts aimed at supporting stability in the neighboring country and further expressed his desire to keep up the pace of coordination.
