Brazil, Nicaragua to square off in basketball semifinals

Managua, Apr 11 (Prensa Latina) The games of the Brazilian teams Sao Paulo-Flamengo and Minas Tenis, against Real Esteli, from Nicaragua, are part of the semifinals of the Basketball Champions League (BCL Americas) for Sunday.

The only quarter-final match ended on Saturday with Real Esteli’s 94-72 victory against Sesi Franca.

Real Esteli will play in the second semifinal on Sunday (01:10, local time), against Minas Tenis, which defeated 87-60 the Argentine team Quimsa, last year’s champion.

Sao Paulo-Flamengo, the only team that finished all three qualifying matches undefeated, beat Caballos de Cocle, from Panama, 74-59.

Due to the situation of the pandemic, the quarter finals in this third edition of the club tournament on the Latin American continent were played in Managua as a single match and on a single date.

The winners in the semifinals will contest the title on Tuesday 13th.
