Opinions on common interest were debated during the meeting, where the parties expressed their intention to strengthen joint action to find solutions to the current difficulties Syria is facing as a result of the policies imposed by of some Western countries, the presidency reported in a press release.

The text reported that the Russian delegation reiterated Moscow’s rejection of any action or measure that violates Syria´s sovereignty and territorial integrity or affects the efforts to end the war.

The two sides denounced the US pressure to hamper the work of the Committee for the Discussion of the Constitution, and stressed that any progress on the political path requires adherence to the fight against terrorism and the preservation of Syrian unity.
