This position confirms Cuba´s commitment and will to comply with the first of 17 Sustainable Development Goals passed by the UN to curb poverty by 2030.
The goal is to provide predictable means for developing countries, particularly the least developed nations, in order to implement policies and programs aimed at ending poverty.
According to the UN, its objective is that it can be ensured that all men and women have the same rights to economic resources, access to basic services, control of land and other forms of property, natural resources and new technologies, among others.
Multidimensional Poverty Index shows deficiencies at the household and individual level in health, education and standard of living sectors, according to the UNDP.
