The event is part of the activities called this week by the Department of Global Communications and the Department of Economic and Social Affairs on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day.
Recently, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for building a more inclusive and accessible world that recognizes disabled people´s contributions.
As Guterres highlighted in his message, the recovery from the health crisis is also an opportunity to rethink present education and training systems in order to guarantee that people with autism have the opportunities to develop their own potential.
For this population, Guterres stressed, access to decent work under equal conditions requires the creation of enabling environment, as well as other reasonable accommodations.
