Syria is still committed to international law and reiterates its demand to the Council to assume its responsibilities under the UN Charter, and to take steadfast and immediate measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks, says a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry.
The text urges questioning and holding Israel accountable for its terrorism and crimes committed against the Syrian and Palestinian peoples, and for its continued support of terrorist organizations.
Zionist actions constitute flagrant violations of the United Nations Charter, the provisions of international law and all resolutions and instruments related to the fight against terrorism, it noted.
The statement denounces that the Israeli aggression against targets near Damascus coincides with the Passover celebrations, which shows that the Zionist entity does not believe in peace but in the law of the jungle.
It also reaffirms that such aggressions are aimed at prolonging the war against Syria and preventing the army and its allies from completely defeating the ISIS -Islamic State, and Al-Nousra Front organizations, both of which are on the list of international terrorism.
