Press TV quoted a high-ranking official without identifying him, who said that the Islamic Republic will not accept differences between the measures adopted by the Donald Trump government, those related to the nuclear pact and those that are not.
‘For Iran, the source emphasized, all US sanctions, included those from the era of President Barack Obama (2009-2017), must disappear.’
Iranian authorities demand the total and lasting elimination of this economic siege as a condition to return to the commitments of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or nuclear deal.
According to the official, Tehran’s resumption of its suspended obligations in response to the United States’ withdrawal from the JCPOA will only occur after a reasonable verification of the lifting of anti-Iranian punitive measures.
The comments quoted on Thursday by Press TV took place at the end of the 18th JCPOA Joint Commission held in Vienna, Austria, in which delegates from the Islamic Republic and the rest of the signatories of the multilateral deal participated.
