In a statement posted on Twitter, APATEL reiterated its request to repeal the Executive Decree setting down that all South American travelers must bring a negative Covid-19 test 48 hours ahead of their arrival.
The regulation also covers that after their arrival, whether by air, sea or land, South American travelers must undergo a new compulsory check-up at their cost and if positive, they will be confined at a hospital hotel so as to be isolated and follow the corresponding treatment in accordance with Panama´s health protocols.
‘Under the pretext of isolating Panama from the new Covid-19 strain,’ local health authorities ‘have already isolated the country from 14 South American nations and imposed draconian and unnecessary restrictions on normal flow of passengers and sightseers.’
