Cuba hails this date with strong and effective health protocols for Covid-19 patients, the president said on Twitter, and added that the island has five vaccine candidates in an advance phase of clinical trials, ‘two of them ready.’
The head of State recalled that there is free access to health care in Cuba when the World Health Organization and the Pan-American Health Organization note the unnecessary suffering caused by the existing inequality in this regard in other regions of the world.
Diaz-Canel added that this phenomenon also brings about the emergence of preventable diseases and premature deaths and damages to economies and societies.
‘Today, April 7, World Health Day, we call on nations to ensure that health care becomes central in post-Covid-19 recovery,’ Diaz-Canel tweeted.
