In a statement, the organization set out that the event will set various positions, including the condemnation of the United States economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba for over 60 years, and enhance their presence on social networks, a scenario chosen to attack and slander the Caribbean island.
It will also be the appropriate framework to commemorate the 15th anniversary of those meetings, whose first edition was held in Paris.
The online forum, in view of the difficulties to move around Europe in the context and restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, will take place on Saturday, June 19, at 4:00 p.m., Paris time.
According to the National Coordinator of Cubans Residents in France, the call responds to the desire to give continuity to the movement founded to strengthen collaboration and ties between fellow Cubans living in Europe, in order to preserve the cultural identity and strengthen the defense of the sovereignty of the homeland.
The 15th meeting will take place a few days prior to a new voting at the United Nations General Assembly, scheduled for June 23, on a draft resolution demanding the lifting of the US blockade, a text similar to the one approved in that multilateral forum on 28 occasions since 1992.
