The signing of the protocol took place via videoconference between the heads of both commercial bodies and with the participation of the Cuban ambassador to Cairo, Tania Aguiar Fernandez.
‘We have many projects and we hope to boost collaboration in areas such as mining, transportation, renewable energies, domestic trade, health, education, among others,’ noted Ibrahim Mahmoud El Araby, president of the Egyptian Chamber of Commerce.
His Cuban counterpart, Antonio Carricarte, spoke of the need to launch again economic relations and exploit the potential of each country to face common challenges.
Carricarte took the opportunity to thank Cairo for its support against the US economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba.
During the virtual event, several companies interested in the agreement presented their offers.
Ahmed El-Basha Idrees, member of the board of directors of the El-Basha Import and Export Company expressed his desire to transfer to the Cuban market excellent agricultural products such as citrus and spices.
