Following the sustained peak of cases in the country, which yesterday registered a record 20,870 Covid-19 cases in a single day, the AFA ordered new controls for players, who, among other things, must attend training sessions in their private cars.
Among the new restrictions for Argentine soccer players will be not to bathe in the facilities of the institutions and not to use the locker rooms.
According to the president of Club Atletico de Lanus, Nicolas Russo, after a meeting of the Executive Committee, they will try not to stop First Division soccer and the promotion categories. Each one from his place has to contribute to generate the measures, he said.
In a statement, the AFA expressed its deep concern in attention to the growing number of Covid-19 cases, both in society and in the different soccer teams.
‘Aligned with the guidelines of the health policy carried out by the government, this association urges clubs, players, members of the institutions and the entire soccer family in general, to strictly comply with the health protocols duly approved,’ the Association noted.
