In a communique, the alliance made up of progressive leaders from 15 countries, along with its legal dimension, the Latin American Council for Justice and Democracy (CLAJUD), explained that the mission will be led by former Spanish judge Baltazar Garzon and Colombian congresswoman Maria Jose Pizarro.
Gerardo Pisarello, a member of the Congress of Deputies of Spain and member of CLAJUD, will also travel to Ecuador.
The alliance stated that the mission is part of the permanent actions of the Puebla Group, aimed at ensuring and guaranteeing the respect and promotion of democracy, the self-determination of the peoples and social peace, not only in Latin America, but also globally.
On Sunday, April 11, Ecuador will hold the presidential runoff between candidates Andres Arauz and Guillermo Lasso.
