El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele stated that the cargo will arrive on Tuesday evening, as an additional donation to two million units purchased from China last week.
Government sources confirmed that El Salvador already has 1.1 million doses of vaccines from different manufacturers, which made possible to immunize almost all front-line personnel and teachers from the public and private sectors.
El Salvador began a national immunization campaign on February 17, through batches of Covishield, AstraZeneca-Oxford, Pfizer-BioNTech and Chinese CoronaVac vaccines.
