According to statistics from the National Health Commission, there are a total of 107 patients with the pathology since the outbreak was detected last week in the city of Ruili, in that province, bordering Myanmar.
With these figures, China accumulates 4,851 deaths and 102,908 contagions in its mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan since the disease broke out in December 2019, and also keeps 304 asymptomatic patients under observation, counted separately.
Ruili authorities rule out a greater spread of Covid-19 and rush vaccination to achieve an immunological barrier as soon as possible among almost 300,000 inhabitants.
The plan is to administer the vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company CanSino Biologics Inc., which only requires a single dose.
According to reports, four Myanmar citizens were among the first Covid-19 patients and the outbreak is suspected to have been caused by groups of smugglers.
