However, there were no deaths to regret as a result of the disease, and thus the number of deaths continues at 436.

1,047 of the active cases are the product of autochthonous transmission, while the source of infection for 19 of them was located abroad, and another 1,031 were found to be contacts of other previously reported cases, in the words of the expert.

881 patients were discharged in the last few hours, placing the total of recovered in 75,127.

To date, 26,198 remain hospitalized, of them are 3,787 suspects, 17,420 are under surveillance and 4,991 cases remain active.

Duran stressed the need to protect those under 20 years of age, and recalled the vulnerability of this age group, with 173 patients diagnosed yesterday, 162 of them in pediatric ages.

9,588 infants have fallen ill with Covid-19 to date; 781 remain active, while 92 percent have recovered, Duran explained.
