In this regard, domestic sustainable development strategy ‘Vision Egypt 2030’ regards separate environmental policies including ecotourism in marine reserves, management of coastal areas as well as a low-carbon strategy development.

Egypt was the first North African country to introduce green bonds for investment in renewable energy, sustainable transport and water management, Fouad stated.

Benban solar power plant is one of those projects that are being conducted in coordination with Finance and Planning Ministry and Economic Development Ministry.

In addition, a multidisciplinary team is presently working on the Interactive Risk Map, in order to provide indicators on potential climate change threats by 2100.
