In a recent transgression, Israeli orthodox extremists broke into the mosque, which is reserved for Islamic people and protected by the Israeli occupying forces.

Jordanian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Deifallah Fayez said that the action implies a total disrespect for the legal and historic status quo, international law and Israel’s commitments.

Fayez confirmed that he had sent an official note of protest, in which he called on Israel to halt its violations and provocations at the mosque.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to bear its responsibility and exert pressure on Tel Aviv to halt its ongoing violations and provocations in Haram al-Sharif.
