Luis Bonifaz, national coordinator of electoral processes, said that the actions will take place in all 24 provinces and will guarantee operational issues, biosafety and physical distancing.
As in the first round of the February 7 general elections, the CNE works on computer security and is training personnel linked to voting, Bonifaz said.
The exercise coincides with the electoral campaign period developed by the two presidential candidates, Andres Arauz, from the progressive ‘Union por la Esperanza’ (Unity of Hope), and Guillermo Lasso, from the center-right CREO-Partido Social Cristiano (Believe-Christian Social Party).
The vote-catching events by the presidential candidates will last until April 8. About 13,099,150 Ecuadorians are called to vote on Sunday, April 11.
