Mexico reports 4.3 percent decrease in public income

Mexico, Apr 1 (Prensa Latina) Mexico reported a 4.3-percent decrease in public income in January and February, even though total expenditures grew 6.1 percent, according to the Secretariat of Finance.

In a report on finance and public debt corresponding to February 2021, the Ministry explained that revenues increased 5.8 percent in relation to February 2020.

Official reports indicate that total revenues from the public sector were 11.665 billion pesos (583 million dollars), below the estimated 927.6 billion pesos (46 billion dollars).

In turn, public debt stood at 12.3 trillion pesos (more than 600 billion dollars), compared to February 2020, when it amounted to 11.2 trillion pesos (547 billion dollars).

The Secretariat of Finance assured in a statement that due to the Government’s prudence in the management of public resources, a primary deficit of 13,571.6 billion pesos (663 million dollars) was reported in January-February.
