The attack took place when a BTR-80A armored vehicle was allegedly hit by an RPG (portable rocket launcher), according to preliminary investigations.
The FANB issued a statement on Thursday where it reiterated that it will hold firm against attacks by those groups that seek to seize control of the border areas in the Venezuelan state of Apure.
‘We will continue to employ all our combative capabilities at all costs to neutralize those criminals, wherever they are, since we will not yield even a millimeter of the sacred territory of the Homeland to their bastard interests,’ the text refers.
