Reviewing on Twitter his visits on Tuesday to research institutions in Havana, the head of State noted that it is impressive the medical equipment developed in centers such as the Cuban company Combiomed, which will deliver a high-performance lung ventilator to Cuban healthcare sector.
He explained that the creativity of that group of researchers and specialists also makes it possible to have electrocardiographs, defibrillators, crash carts, blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters and infusion pumps.
The fight against Covid-19 tested Cuba’s ability to fend for ourselves and assert sovereignty, he said.
Diaz-Canel also recalled that when the pandemic broke out, he asked the Immunoassay Center, with 37 years of experience, to achieve sovereignty in the development of Covid-19 diagnostics.
He pointed out that young scientists from that institution also take on the challenge of creating a totally Cuban-made PCR test.
Visiting that prestigious institution reaffirms all the hopes for the future we are building from science, the president tweeted.
